Financial Disclosure

In order to reach a financial settlement:

• You must agree to complete full, frank & true financial disclosure and provide all supporting
  documents.
• This means sharing information about your assets, liabilities, income and expenditure.
• The mediator will record all the details and provide you with a document called an “Open Financial Statement” alongside your agreement at the end of mediation.
• This information is called “open” because it can be used outside mediation. However...
• Discussion around how to divide you assets are considered “privileged”, this means it can’t be used outside mediation until it is turned into a legally binding document by your solicitor.
